What to Expect

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting. Here is exactly how the process works.

Step 1: The Free Discovery Call

We start with a free, 15-minute phone or video call. This isn't a high-pressure session, it's a friendly chance for us to say hello, for you to share what you're looking for, and to see if we're a good fit.

Step 2: The Initial Intake Session

Once you decide to proceed, we will schedule your first 50-minute online session. We will discuss your background, your current challenges, and your goals for therapy. There is absolutely no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.

Step 3: Ongoing Collaborative Therapy

In subsequent sessions, we work collaboratively to unpack your concerns. The approach is trauma-informed, non-judgemental, and tailored to your specific pace and life context.

Your Rights as a Client & Ethical Safeguards

Therapy works best when you feel completely safe, informed, and in control of your journey. These four ethical commitments protect your autonomy at every step.

Confidentiality Assured

1. Complete Privacy & Data Protection

Under India's Mental Healthcare Act 2017 and Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, everything discussed in session remains strictly confidential. We never share session details or disclosures with parents, spouses, colleges, or employers without your written consent.

Paced Comfort

2. You Dictate the Pace

There is never an interrogation. You decide what topics to explore and when. If a discussion point feels too tender or overwhelming, we hit pause. You never have to defend your choices or share before you are ready.

Non-Pathologizing

3. Zero Judgment & Stigma-Free Space

No moral policing, unsolicited cultural judgment, or clinical labels. We treat your struggles as natural nervous system adaptations to prolonged stress, using evidence-based CBT and ACT frameworks tailored to your values.

Total Autonomy

4. Informed Consent & Flexibility

You have the right to ask questions about therapy techniques, clinical rationales, or practitioner qualifications at any time. You also hold complete freedom to adjust cadence, pause, or end therapy whenever you choose, with zero lock-in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is online therapy confidential? +

Yes. All sessions are conducted over secure, encrypted video platforms. Your privacy is strictly protected in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, and telemedicine practice guidelines in India.

What are my rights as a therapy client in India? +

Under India's Mental Healthcare Act 2017, you have the legal right to confidentiality, informed consent, dignity, and autonomy. You have the right to know your therapist's qualifications (Grace holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology), understand the therapeutic approach (CBT, ACT), decline to discuss specific topics, and conclude therapy whenever you decide.

What do I need for an online therapy session? +

You will need a stable internet connection, a quiet and private space where you won't be interrupted, and ideally, headphones to ensure clear audio and complete privacy.

How long is each session and how often do we meet? +

Each standard therapy session lasts for 50 minutes. Typically, we begin with weekly sessions to build a strong therapeutic foundation, which can later be transitioned to bi-weekly as you make progress.

What if I don't know what to talk about? +

That is completely normal. You don't need a prepared script or neat bullet points. Your therapist will gently guide the conversation with open-ended questions to help you explore what's on your mind.

Whenever you're ready, I'm here: no pressure, just a conversation.
